1.) What exactly is it that you do in the Adult Industry?
What company do you currently work for? What's your job title
or duties?
Interesting
how the million dollar question starts us on our way. My official
job title at Standard Internet is "developer". However
like so many people in this industry, I do not just perform
one task per day, or even over a series of days. A typical day
for me brings me into the office where I deal with whatever
mainstream/adult projects are in the works, and do a bit of
problem solving and server management. After leaving the office
I will come home and do any number of things on my own, tgp
submission, free sites, site updates, a bit of content here
and there, etc.
2.) When did you actually get started in the industry?
I first started into adult sometime in mid 1999, previously
I had a few mainstream sites I would play with. I started working
for Standard Internet on February 7th, 2000. Just for the record,
I never applied there, they found me.
3.) If you could change one thing about the Adult Industry
what would it be and why?
If I could change one thing in the industry, it would
be the folks causing bad press. I think far too many people
think in the short term, and do not realize their negative actions
effect the long term image of this business.
4.) What advice would you offer to anyone that's just
starting out in the industry?
This is not an easy way to make your "bling".
You will only get out of it what you put into it, which better
include some cash to get started off on the right foot. Read
everything, twice, ask questions and try to wade your way though
the misinformation.
5.) Tell us about any sites you might operate or that
you're most proud of.
Adult wise, I am involved with TotalCatFights.com and
MartyLikesToParty.com at the moment. I am pretty proud of a
semi-mainstream collaboration I have been working on for a few
weeks with some long time friends. I believe completing this
interview will motivate me to edit the 30 hours of tape which
we have shot. I'll keep you posted on that one.
6.)
What are your hobbies?
When I am not online, which really is not often, I hope for
nice weather to ride my bmx bike. I prefer street/city riding,
but have from time to time do "flatland" riding.
7.) Are you married? Have a girlfriend or boyfriend? Or
both? *giggle*
I have been married for a little over two years now.
8.) How much time would you say you spend working in a
day and do you take regular vacations?
I spend most of my day working in some capacity. I prefer
not to think of the hours though, that is a bit depressing.
I generally take an annual excursion to a bed and breakfast
in the Pocono Mountains of Pennsylvania. The place is great,
my cell phone doesn't even work and I would have no idea how
far away the nearest computer is. Other than that, I go to Vegas
in January.
9.) Is there anything personal or professional that you
would like to add or that you would like others to know about
you?
If I don't talk much to you at the shows, it isn't because I
don't like you. It takes me a bit of time to talk to people
in person, I'm much more jovial/outgoing in small gatherings.
10.) What's the one thing you like best about Rated Hot?
I like the hugs!
