1.) What exactly is it that you do in the Adult Industry? What company do you currently work for? What's your job title or duties?

I am a web/graphic designer, multimedia producer and I run my own design business, Devilish Media.

2.) When did you actually get started in the industry?

Officially about 4 years ago. When most of the dot coms we’re going bust, I noticed that the online adult industry was still booming, so I eventually started to branch out from mainstream design into adult. After I had enough work under my belt to build an adult portfolio, I formed Devilish Media in addition to my mainstream design business.

3.) If you could change one thing about the Adult Industry what would it be and why?

With all the monopolies, mega corporate mergers, patent rights and legal issues, etc going on these days and it’s becoming almost impossible for the newbies and startups to have a chance.

As a designer, I see a lot of business in the development stages, before they hit the public and it pains me to see a good site or idea go to waste just because of something as ridiculous as not being able to afford to accept a particular credit card. Times really suck when it literally comes down to “Sorry, I can’t afford to take your money…”

I think it’s key that the industry continues to focus on developing more stable, scalable (and legal) products, tools and services that help to keep the small time webmasters in business, such as more affordable alternative billing solutions, business management and content management tools, etc.

Jumping on the latest wireless technology or niche bandwagon is great, but if there’s no way to charge for it, that’s a problem…

And don’t even get me started on politics… yeeesh…

4.) What advice would you offer to anyone that's just starting out in the industry?

Yeah, go get a real job, ya bum!!
Seriously though... Getting involved with online adult communities like RatedHot is one of the best first steps I ever made. Because of the social stigmas surrounding this business, being involved in adult industry isn’t something everyone wants to announce to the whole world and often times the people-in-the-know tend to keep somewhat of a low profile. These communities can be a crucial place to network, ask questions and learn.

5.) Tell us about any sites you might operate or that you're most proud of.

In addition to my design sites I started toying with some TGPs

6.) What are your hobbies?

I play and produce music, I collect occult art and literature (I love Mexican Day of the Dead type stuff!) and I just started taking flying lessons, Oh yeah, my wife and I are starting an herbal beauty products business. Should be interesting.

7.) Are you married? Have a girlfriend or boyfriend? Or both? *giggle*

I’ve been married for 2 months now. Her father held me at gunpoint and made me do it… … oh god... help me!

8.) How much time would you say you spend working in a day and do you take regular vacations?

When I was single, I barely left the house if I had a project at hand, unless I was out of coffee or cigarettes. I’d work for 3 days straight then sleep for a day because I would just pass out. Now that I’m married though, I try to stick to an 8 to 10 hour work day about 6 days a week. It keeps me sane.

9.) Is there anything personal or professional that you would like to add or that you would like others to know about you?

Um… You mean like… I have a very long tongue?? Or like… hello, my name is Bubba and I’m an alcoholic?? Oh nevermind…

10.) What's the one thing you like best about Rated Hot?

Marsha is a lady and a sweetheart and I love her hugs! RatedHot is a community of very knowledgeable and genuinely caring people and I have learned SOO much here. It is a pleasure being a moderator and being part of such an awesome community.
